Coordinate formats

Geocaching.com lists coordinates as degrees and decimal minutes, like N 42° 20.123 W 083° 03.456. Google Maps and many apps use decimal degrees, like 42.335383, -83.0576. Topo maps and some puzzles use degrees, minutes and seconds, like N 42° 20' 07.4". This tool reads any of them and shows all three.

You can leave out the degree and minute symbols, put the N, S, E and W before or after the numbers, and use a minus sign for south and west. The result can be copied or opened straight in Google Maps or Apple Maps.
