How the Matrix Walker works

Each letter or digit is drawn in an imaginary grid 3 pixels wide and 5 tall, like a tiny pixel font. Starting at the bottom-left pixel, a string of arrows says where to move next, coloring each pixel along the way: ↑ ↓ ← → and the four diagonals. A dotted arrow ⇢ skips one pixel to the right without coloring the starting one, and a small square ▪ ends the character, so the next one starts again at the bottom left of a new grid.

Paste the arrows, or tap them in with the keypad. CacheCrack matches each group against the table and also draws the pixels it colors, so if a group has a missing or extra arrow, you can still read the letter from its shape. Groups it cannot match are shown in amber.

Typing arrows

Besides the arrow characters, CacheCrack accepts ^ v < >, emoji arrows, and number-pad digits (8 up, 2 down, 4 left, 6 right, 7 9 1 3 for the diagonals, 5 to skip and 0 for a break) when that option is on. A space is a group of only skips.
